- England Football Association charges its team
The England Football Association has charged its team that was involved in a little foo four all with China with misconduct.
The brew ha ha ha took place during a friendly, be name, not so friendly in actual practice, match between the Queens Park Rangers and China's Olympic team on February seventh.
Assistant boss with the Rangers, Richard Hill, has been suspended by the club until further notice, and now has been charged with violent conduct.
The club issued a statement stating that "an internal investigation into the matter continues". The brawl left China player Zheng Tao with a broken jaw.
Hill and the club have until 12 March to respond to the FA charges.
The club have been charged with failing "to ensure that its players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refraining from violent and/or threatening and/or provocative behaviour."
- Roger Federer sets a new record
Roger Federer set a new record for men's tennis dominance on Monday, when he celebrated his 161st consecutive week as world number one.
The Swiss eclipsed Jimmy Connors's 30-year-old milestone after extending a streak that began on February 2 2004.
Federer said he'd been looking forward to this day to come and was very excited because it's definitely one of the biggest records his broken so far in my career.
Then he went out and spanked Kristian Pless 7-6 3-6 6-3 in the first round of the Dubai Open.
American Connors enjoyed 160 weeks as the world's top-ranked player between July 1974 and August 1977. The Swiss master is guaranteed to leave that benchmark far behind as his closest rival, Spain's Rafael Nadal, trails the 25-year-old by 3,415 points in the ATP entry system.
- Honda Formula One team goes green
The Honda Formula One team is going green. Ah, at least giving the appearance of green anyways. It will replace advertising and sponsor logos on its car this season with a giant picture of the Earth to raise awareness of environmental issues.
Team boss Nick Fry says Climate change is probably the single biggest issue facing the global community and F1 is not immune from it.
He also says that F1 has a huge global profile and cutting edge technology and that can play an important role in not only highlighting the issues but also playing a part in developing solutions. The team says that, through the Website www.myearthdream.com, anybody can have the opportunity to have their name on the car which will have the image of the earth on it, by making a donation to an environmental charity.
Under Honda's concept of 'our car is your car', each name will form a tiny individual pixel which will help build the image of planet earth on the car.
Universal Music and Gatorade were the first global brands to join the team in the new concept while existing sponsors were also enthusiastic, the team says.
