    2007-02-04 15:04:01     CRIENGLISH.com

China took two more golds at the sixth Asian Winter Games on Saturday, the last day of competition and topped the final medal tally with 19 golds, 19 silvers and 23 bronzes.

China's former world champions and Olympic medalists Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo collected the gold in the pairs figure skating Saturday evening. Both the silver and bronze also went to Chinese pairs.

However, the Chinese top pair seemed not to be quite satisfied with their perfomance.

"We did not achieve the preset goal, that is to surpass our best record of 206 scores in total".

"The unprecedented enthusiam of the audience disturbed us a bit, though we are very grateful for them."

Also on Saturday evening, Chinese figure skater Xu Ming, won the men's singles title by defeating compatriot Li Chengjiang and Japan's Kensuke Nakaniwa.

Earlier on the day, China collected a silver in the women's cross country 4X5km relay at Beidahu in the city of Jilin. China's men team was third in the 4X10km relay. Both golds were reaped by Kazakhstan.

Of all the 47 gold medals on offer, Japan and South Korea ranked second and third, with 13 and nine golds respectively.
