22-year-old Chinese singer Anson Hu, or Hu Yanbin in mandarin, was born and grew up in Shanghai. His success can be attributed not only to his excellent singing, but also to his talents for composition.

Anson Hu tries out various musical genres on his latest album “Music Code,” including rock, R&B, electronic and Chinese flavors. Hu was totally responsible for all creative aspects of this album. He says all ten songs on the new album are theme songs.

And each has its own characteristics so it’s hard for him to choose just one theme song. In the current Chinese pop scene, some people would compare the rising star of Anson Hu with Jay Chow, the super pop star from Taiwan. But Hu says his musical style is quite different, even though he does admire Jay Chow's music very much. With many awards already in his pocket, Anson Hu looks set to catch up with many of the superstars in China.

Such a rapid rise to fame has attracted some naysayers, but the young artist says he doesn't care a bit. All he plans to do is focus on his music and bring out more and better songs for his fans. All of his awards have proven his abilities and qualifications to occupy a special position in the Chinese pop scene.
