A celebration party was held on Wednesday in Beijing, attended by director Tsui Hark and his wife, lead actor Donnie Yen and actress Zhang Jingchu.

Since the film opened on 29th July, viewers and critics have given the film both criticism and praise.

Seven Swords tells the story of seven warriors coming together to protect a village from a diabolical general. It is the opening film of this year's Venice Film Festival.

The sequel is also planned but the cast has yet to decide.
