Introduction of the singer:
Jeff Chang has a very unique high-pitched voice, which allows him to scale high notes effortlessly. Sometimes, his voice is so high that matches, and even surpasses, the pitch of female vocalists. As I see it, his voice is crisp and his diction excellent. Since there are so few male pop singers around who can reach the highs like Jeff, it has become his trump card.
Famous for sentimental love songs, Jeff delivers with feeling. The media has dubbed him the "Prince of Love Ballads". Even one suggestion is that, if you are in love, have ever been in love or are simply fascinated by sentimental melodies, you should listen to Jeff.
Jeff's distinctive high-pitch voice has charmed so many fans of Chinese communities all over the world. Since the release of his debut album in 1989, he has produced numerous enchanting tunes that have touched thousands of fans.
Jeff burst on to the Chinese mainland pop scene in the late 1990s, and has left a lasting impression on Chinese fans. In 1998, 2001 and 2003, he held three sell-out concerts in Beijing. Jeff and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra held a Pop & Classical Concert at Shanghai Grand Stage in August 2003. Last April, he staged the first leg of his world tour titled "Around the World 2005" in Shanghai. His greatest hits like "Hard to Resist Your Charm" and "A Little Bit Touched" were popular on campus in the last decade, but "Going Too Far" is the one I like best. Most of his fans are in their 30s.
In live concerts, heart-throb Jeff liked to do something special. In an atmosphere of classical music, Jeff showed his ability to play the violin, which he learned as a boy. He also liked to sing some popular songs of others in addition to his own hits. He and Joey Yung held a charity concert in Hong Kong. A crossover between the Taiwanese Prince of Ballads and a Hong Kong Diva, the concert reached its climax when the two Js jointly performed a number of popular duets. Apart from their own signature tunes, they also performed each other's chart-topping songs. The audience enjoyed "My Pride" in Jeff's unique voice and "Love as Tides" performed by Joey at the wonder stage extravaganza.
