 M: Pēngyǒumen. Nǐmen hǎo! Huānyíng shōutīng Xiànzài Xué Hànyǔ. Wǒ shì ML.
S: Wǒ shì Stuart. The previous lesson we learnt 安排 ‘organize' ānpāi.
M: 打算 ‘intend' dǎsuàn.
S: And ‘first', as in ‘first we'll eat'. 我们先吃饭 wǒmen xiēn chī fàn.
M: I also said, After we've eaten, we'll go to a karaoke bar 吃完饭之后，我们去唱卡拉OK。
S: Hear how ML said ‘after' in ‘chì wán fàn zhīhòu'? Right, it's 之后 ZHI HOU, first tone fourth tone, zhīhòu. Here the word order is ‘eat finish food after', chi1 wán fàn zhīhòu. Say it with me, chī wán fàn zhìhòu, chi1 wán fàn zhīhòu.
M: We've learnt another way to say the same thing, remember. I could say, We first eat dinner, after, ránhòu, ránhòu, we something something. 我们先吃晚饭，然后，we go to the karaoke bar. Wǒmen xiānchī wǎnfàn, ránhòu, wǒmen qùchàng kǎlāOK.卡拉OK. Chàng, CHANG, fourth tone, to sing. And 卡拉OK here refers to the karaoke bar.
S: Where we can have fun and make fools of ourselves!
M: And we'll go Dutch. Wǒmen AA zhì. 我们AA制。
S: So let's listen to last lesson's dialogue again.
M: 我要安排一个生日宴会. Wǒyào ānpái yíge shēngrì yànhuì.
S: 谁的生日宴会? Shéi de shēngrì yànhuì?
M: 我的生日宴会. Wǒ de shēngrì yànhuì.
S: 你的生日是哪一天？Nǐ de shēngrì shì něi yìtiān?
M: 下周末，星期六 xià zhōumò, xīngqī liù.
S: 你打算干什么 nǐ dǎsuàn gàn shénme?
M: 我们先吃晚饭. 吃完饭之后，我们去唱卡拉OK。 Wǒmen xiēn chī wǎn fàn, chī wán fàn zhīhòu, wǒmen qùchàng kǎlāOK.
S: 你请客吗 nǐqǐngkèma?
M: We'll go Dutch. 我们AA制。
S: Ok, we've learnt to say ‘first', as in, First we'll eat, which is 我们先吃饭 wǒmen xiān chīfàn.
M: And several ways to say ‘then', or ‘after', such as zhìhòu, yǐhòu or ránhòu.
S: Now to learn ‘finally', as in, Finally, we'll go home.
M: 最后我们回家 zuì hòu wǒmen huíjiā.
S: Hear it? Yes, it's 最后 ZUI HOU zuìhòu. zuìhòu wǒmen huíjiā. Now, everybody say, First we'll go to a restaurant, after which – use ránhòu - go to a karaoke bar, and finally we'll go to Mr. Li's house.
M: Hěnhǎo. 我们先去餐馆，然后去唱卡拉OK，最后去李先生家 wǒmen xiān qù cānguǎn, ránhòu qùchàng kǎlāOK, zuìhòu qù lǐ xiānshēng jiā.
S: Now say, First he'll eat dinner, then go to the park, finally he'll go home.
M: Méicuò. 他先吃晚饭, 然后去公园，最后回家 tā xiān chī wǎnfàn, ránhòu qù gōngyuán, zuìhòu huíjiā.
S: And we will xiàkè. Zàijiàn. |
