S: And we learnt three types of train:
M: 普通客车 ordinary passenger train pǔtōng kèchè.
S: 快车 express train kuàichē
M: And special express, 特快 tèkuài.
S: Also, train number 18 is 十八次列车 shìbā cì lièchē
M: Two new things, platform is 站台 zhàntái.
S: Platform 1, 一号站台yìhào zhàntái. Platform 3, 三号站台 sānhào zhàntái, and so on. Hào, here means ‘number'.
M: And ‘leave from somewhere' here means 从somewhere 开出。从，remember, is ‘from', cóng.
S: So, let's finish with: 我们坐二十一次列车 wǒmen zuò èrshíyī cì lièchē.
M: 二十一次列车是普通客车吗 èrshíyī cì lièchē shì pǔtōng kèchē ma?
S: 不是 bú shì.
M: 是快车吗 shì kuàichē ma?
S: Kind of. Tāshì tèkuài.
M: What platform does it leave from? 它从哪个站台开出？Tācóng něige zhàntái kāichū?
S: 二号站台. Number 2 platform, èrhào zhàntái.
