S: 现在我们去中国银行兑现旅行支票
M: What is Zhōngguó Yínháng? Duìle. China Bank, meaning, Bank of China. Duìxiàn lǚxíng zhīpiào.
S: 兑现 DUI XIAN duìxiàn, both in fourth tone, mean ‘to cash', as in ‘cash a cheque'.
M: And we've learnt 旅游 lǚyóu, which means ‘to tour' or ‘travel' lǚyóu. 旅行 LV XING lǚxíng, third tone second tone, means the same thing, lǚxíng.
S: So what is a 旅行支票? Méi cuò. A traveller's cheque. 支票 ZHI PIAO, zhīpiào, 1st tone 4th tone, means ‘cheque', zhìpiào. So ML will now finish by saying, Now we'll pop over to the Bank of China, to cash some traveller's cheques.
