Thought for Today:

Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome.
活着是幸福。死亡是平静。只是过渡起来让人烦闷。

Today's Highlight in History:

1920: the U.S. Federal Prohibition Law was enacted on January 2nd.  This law prohibited the manufacture, transportation, or sale of alcoholic beverages. It wasn't until almost 14 years later, in December 1933, that Prohibition was repealed by the Twenty-First Amendment. During Prohibition, certain activities were sanctioned, including home winemaking and wineries being allowed to make sacramental wines.
