Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom put four cable ships into the restore task as well, which left Japan, Singapore and Philippines on Thursday and will arrive at rescue site next Tuesday.
Earlier, Guan Ruoqi, general manager of China Netcom's international department, briefed on the repair work.
"So far, the telephone lines to the whole world are almost fully operational. Meanwhile, 20% of the Internet lines to the US, which suffered the largest damage, will be recovered Friday."
In addition, Singapore's netizens are also seriously affected by the disruption of the Internet. The telecommunications department in the country is racing to restore service.
