Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has expressed the country's willingness to discuss suspension of nuclear enrichment activities with European countries.
Mottaki made the remarks during a news conference in Tehran on Wednesday.
"Even the suspension of Iran's nuclear activities asked for in Europe's nuclear proposal package, with no logic behind it, can be discussed and negotiated but in a serious negotiation."
The chief Iranian diplomat stresses that the most effective way to solve the nuclear issue will be holding negotiations that will safeguard Iran's rights and remove Europe's concerns over Iran's peaceful nuclear program.
However, he adds that Iran will "never give up its inalienable rights."
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will never retreat from its legal rights under any conditions."
In June, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany offered Tehran a number of incentives in exchange for a pledge to stop its uranium enrichment program. Iran says it will respond to the offer by 22 August 22nd.
Earlier in the day, visiting Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister told his Iranian counterparts that China hopes Iran will "seize the opportunity to respond to the package in a positive way.”
