Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah has warned all Israeli Arabs to leave the Israeli port city of Haifa, so the group could step up attacks without fear of killing fellow Muslims.
Speaking on Al Manar, the Hezbollah TV station, Nasrallah has said he had a special message for Arab residents of the northern Israeli town.
“I say we were sad for your martyrs and your wounded. I beg you to leave this city. I hope you will do this. What happened to you recently made us reluctant to target the city of Haifa.”
He has also sent a new warning to Israel, saying Israeli troops would be forced to leave Lebanon.
“You Israelis are unable to stay on our land. If you enter it, we will force you to leave. We will turn our beloved land into a cemetery for the Zionist aggressor.”
In his first comments since the draft UN resolution was unveiled on Sunday, the Hezbollah leader gave a deeply negative assessment of the plan and called on the Lebanese government to stick to the agreed seven-point resolution plan.
