Beijing Int'l Sports Film Week to Open

The Second Beijing International Sports Film Week will open next Monday as part of the 4th "Beijing 2008"Olympic Cultural Festival.

Twenty six sports-related movies from home and abroad will hit Beijing's screens during the eight day event, with a five or six movies scheduled every day.

The China National Film Museum will show clips from 20 classic movies kept years at the opening ceremony next Monday night. Six of the movies to be aired at the festival are from the Museum's archives.

The 4th "Beijing 2008" Olympic Cultural Festival runs in the capital from June 23 to July 15, 2006. This year the theme is "Experience the Civilization & Enjoy the Olympic Games".

The festival will highlight 28 events, including cultural Olympic activities for mass participation, the Beijing International Sports Film Week and a series of "Olympic Beats" open-air concerts.
