The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 53.03 points, or 2.54 percent, finishing at 2037.74 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index declined 167.64 points, or 2.23 percent, to close at 7360.99 points.
Hong Kong stocks dropped 309.03 points, or 2.05 percent, to close at 14735.84 on Tuesday.
Japan
Tokyo stocks ended higher Tuesday despite a downward revision of Japanese economy.
The benchmark 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average finished at 8,395. 87, up 66.82 points, or 0.80 percent, from Monday, after hitting the day's high of 8,499.60 in early trading.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 5.86 points, or 0.72 percent, to 817. 94.
Australia
The Australian share market ignored a strong rally on Wall Street to close lower on Tuesday after heavy falls on local bank stocks.
The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index had lost 27.3 points, or 0.75 percent, to 3,604.3.
The broader All Ordinaries was down 20.1 points, or 0.57 percent, at 3,533.7. |
