Apart from exploring the overseas market, another way of lifting employment rate is developing new industries, which may create more jobs.

Believed to be the next wave of outsourcing, Knowledge Process Outsourcing or KPO, emphasizes on higher complexity processes, which require professionals with high education and experienced credentials. It is increasingly considered as a crucial process for companies of all sizes to remain competitive in a rapidly changing business environment.

KPO allows companies to save time and gain operational efficiencies by focusing on core business activities while having access to a large pool of skills, technology and service offerings.

The global KPO industry is expected to reach 17 billion US dollars by 2010.

Our reporter Hanwei spoke with Balu Venkitachalam, CEO of Meritus, a Bangalore-based KPO and consulting company, discussing on how enterprises can benefit from knowledge process outsourcing and how China may benefit from the business.
