Heilongjiang is located in the frigid and temperate zone of northeast China. It shares a boundary with Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Jilin Province. Its northern border is to the southeast of the Russian Federation.
Heilongjiang not only has rich soil resources with the largest amount of cultivated land in China, but also good quality water resources for agriculture, industry and human consumption.
Heilongjiang has a great deal of forest coverage, many kinds of biological resources and rich mineral resources. It also has the largest amount of petroleum resources in the country.
