Wang Huiyao (Henry) is vice chairman of China Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA), the largest overseas returnees' organization in China with over 50,000 members. He is the chairman of WRSA Chamber of Commerce, WRSA Policy Advisory Committee and WRSA 2005 Committee, all three he has helped to found and are the major chamber and think tank for Chinese returnee elites trained in the Western countries. In addition, he is vice chairman of China International Economic Cooperation Society under Ministry of Commerce. He also serves as a group leader for global talents strategy study experts group of Chinese Government Coordination Office for Talents as well as a team leader for Overseas Experts Advisory Committee of China State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. Moreover, he is a deputy director of Central Economic Committee of China Jiu San Xueshe and an advising member of China People's Political Consultative Conference Beijing Committee.
Mr. Wang has very extensive experience on international business and exchanges for more than 20 years. In China, he used to work as a Chinese government official in MOFTEC (now as Ministry of Commerce). In North America, he worked as the director--Asia for SNC-Lavalin Group as well as became vice president of Agra Int'l Group (now AMEC Group), both are among the largest engineering and project management firms in the world. He was also appointed as chief trade counselor at Commission of Canada in Hong Kong for Quebec Government Affairs, the first mainland born Chinese ever to be appointed to this senior position. He also served as a senior China business adviser and consultant to some large multinationals such as GE, Siemens, ABB, Alston, Westinghouse and Mitsubishi and so on.
Mr. Wang obtained his BA degree in China and his MBA degree in Canada and continued to pursue his Ph.D. studies at the Ivey Business School of University of Western Ontario and also undertook further training at Manchester Business School in UK and Harvard Business School in US. He had been a visiting professor of several well known business schools such as Ivey School of Business of University of Western Ontario of Canada and Guanghua Management School of Peking University of China. He is also a visiting researcher at International Cooperation Center under China State Development and Reform Commission. He has published 20 books and over 50 articles and papers on the international business management and Chinese global talent issues, including his recent books on Chinese talents movements, such as Returning Times, Contemporary Chinese Returnees, Returnee Startups in China and Open up Your Life.
Mr. Wang is a frequent speakers at different Chinese and international forums and often interviewed by well known media such as CCTV, China Daily, People's Daily, BBC, Economist, Financial Times, CNN, USA Today, NHK, CBC, Canadian Business, Global and Mail, South China Morning Post, Tsingtao, Minpao papers and so on.
