Paul James is an award winning broadcaster who has been the host of People In the Know, China Radio International's flagship current affairs program, since 2005.  Paul entered into broadcast journalism in Canada in 1997.  During his time as a reporter and broadcaster in the West Coast province of British Columbia, Paul broke many provincial and national stories, covering a wide range of fields, including spot news, political and economic affairs.  Before moving to China in the summer of 2005, Paul spent the last two years of his time in the city of Vancouver working as both a reporter and news presenter at the flagship station of one of Canada's largest radio network chains and as a broadcast instructor.  During his time in broadcasting, Paul has interviewed world leaders and has covered major international events, and has become a recognized fixture in English-language broadcasting in China.

Though there have been challenges in adapting to the different demands that broadcasting in another country and culture can create, Paul has come to truly enjoy his life in China and the broader perspective that it provides.

"From being born and raised in a community of 850 people in rural western Canada to living and working as a broadcaster in the capital city of the most populous country in the world...in retrospect, it's been quite a ride!"
