Foreign Trade

The scale of foreign trade enterprises has been enlarged continuously.  Now, there are 2 comprehensive professional foreign trade companies, 32 municipal enterprises having got the power of managing over 60 manufactures of export products, which basically form an import and export trade group with the professional foreign trade company, the enterprises having the power of managing the import and export and the enterprises with foreign investment as the main part.  By the end of 2001, the total import and export through the foreign trade companies reached US��494,000,000, including 331 million US dollars for exports, an increase of 8.3 from last year. 15 categories covering 300 kinds of goods are for export such as aluminum, grinding material, grinding tools, drill steel, yellow phosphorus, diesel engines, precision optical instruments, meter machine tools, tyres, textile tools and food.  The trade partners have expanded from 5 countries and regions to 38 including the USA, France, South Korea, Japan and Thailand.
