How were your "golden week" holidays? You must have done things you had planned for a long time such as traveling, shopping or just sleeping. But to some animal stars in the zoos, the past holidays were again a hard week.

Six-year-old orangutan "Sanmao" in the safari park in city Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, is a big star in the zoo. On Oct. 5, "Sanmao" was performing tug-of-war with a group of kids and suddenly the orangutan crawled down on the ground and refused to get up to work again.

Wang Zhihua is Sanmao's trainer. He said that the "golden week" holidays had exhausted the animal performer. Sanmao was not the only one in the park that was affected by the busy schedule during the holidays.

Wang Wei, another animal trainer, said that some big animals like the lion and tiger were also not cooperative when giving performances these days.

The safari park received an average of 30,000 visitors every day during the week-long holidays. "The animals also felt nervous and rigid when facing so many people," says Wang Zhihua.

Instead of blaming the animal performers for their misbehavior, the trainers chose to add more nutrition to their daily diet and to give them more care than usual.
