World's Tallest Man Holds Wedding Ceremony

The world's tallest man, Bao Xishun, again took spotlights in his formal ceremonial wedding held on Thursday morning in E'erduosi League, in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Bao Xishun, a local herdsman of Mongolian ethnicity, was born in 1951. He is 2.36 meters tall. In 2005, he was recognized as the tallest living person in the world by the Guinness Book of Records. His wife, Xia Shujuan, 28 years old, is 1.68 meters tall.

The two officially registered to get married on March 26 in the Inner Mongolian city of Chifeng.

According to Sohu.com reports, Bao specially arranged his traditional Mongolian wedding with his wife Xia at the E'erduosi League, just because it is a meaningful place where the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, the First Emperor of the Yuan Dynasty, also father of the Mongolians, lies. Bao says the way he holds his wedding because he is the descendant of Genghis Khan, a great Mongolian.

The world tallest man also told Sohu.com that he and his wife got up at 5:30 in the early morning on Thursday just to finalise preparations. They felt very happy and excited. He said that if in the future he has a tall son, he would like to see him playing basketball.

Bao Xishun also told the press that following the wedding he would like to do more for his hometown and help further publicize the Mongolian traditional cultures to the world.
