Wenzhou girl Lin Jingxia has received an offer from Stanford University because of her studies in Wenzhou dialect.

She has studied the local dialect since she entered Zhejiang University. Her original major is British and American literature. During her time at the university, she came up with an idea to set up a data base for the Wenzhou dialect. One professor from Stanford has showed great interests in her thoughts.

Lin Jingxia has got a full scholarship for a doctorate degree over the next 5 years, totalling more than 2 million yuan.
