A man in Chongqing in southwest China has reneged on his previously hard-core stance against man-made beauty and given his wife a plastic surgery plan for Women's Day.

The Chongqing Business Newspaper reports the man, alias Zhang Jun, decided to give his wife a special plastic surgery plan to help her build a more successful career. The wife, alias Wang Ting, complained her ordinary appearance was stopping her from being promoted at the foreign trade company where she works, despite her outstanding performance.

Zhang Jun originally opposed Wang Ting's pleas for plastic surgery, saying he didn't want an artificial beauty as his wife. He even threatened to divorce his wife if she insisted on having plastic surgery.

But Wang Ting is a fan of South Korean soap operas and they helped her persuade her husband. She kept telling him plastic surgery is a universal practice in South Korea as they watched TV together. She finally convinced him plastic surgery is not a big deal today.

Zhang Jun decided to show his support for his wife by paying for her surgery. He gave her a surgery plan as a gift on International Women's Day.
