(right-click, save as) To better enjoy this year's tournament being played in Germany where most live matches kick off after midnight Beijing time, Mr Han in Beijing started to adjust his work and rest hours to European time.
"I start adjusting my timetable days before the game. I try to sleep more during the afternoon."
Though he usually doesn't drink, beer and alcohol is a necessary companion for his World Cup.
His considerate wife has also prepared a lot of food for her husband.
"I've bought some cooked food, potato chips and other snacks. If he is hungry during the middle of the night, he can have something to eat."
While 22 men are burning calories chasing a ball on a field, millions more will be piling them on watching the players on TV. Fans may think potato chips, chicken wings and curry puffs are as indispensible to a match as Ronaldinho's skills, but these are among the most unhealthy snacks you can choose from.
Dr. Chen Shensheng is a doctor at the Beijing Hospital of Chinese Medicine.
"For football-mad people who don't want to miss any games, eat less oily foods during the night and more fruit to supply your body with enough vitamins and energy."
For those who need coffee or beer to help stay clear-headed late at night, Dr. Chen offers his suggestions.
"People with chronic diseases should be careful when drinking coffee or beer. People with stomach problems will worsen their condition if they drink too much coffee."
While minding their own health during the game, football fans should also consider others.
When one's favorite team scores, (screaming sound) don't yell like this if you are watching the game at home. It will hurt your throat and bother your neighbors. People have many complaints about overzealous behavior.
"When football fans get excited, they stomp on the floor and shout loudly. That's really annoying." "Sometime the groups separate into two and support two different teams. There may be much quarrelling. That really bothers me."
The monthlong revel has just started, so fans, here's your goal: watch football, stay healthy and be well behaved.
