Hong Kong actress Karena Lam and Taiwan pop star Alec Su attended an event in Guangzhou on Friday to promote their new romantic comedy "Fit Lover," a sequel to last year's popular hit "Call For Love," website Sina.com reports.

The new film by director Zhang Jianya features 12 top Chinese and Japanese actors, including Leo Koo, Fan Wei, Huang Xiaoming, Tong Dawei, Lu Yi, Deng Chao and Naoki Hosaka. The story centers on Nie Bing, a high-profile TV hostess played by Lam, who is given a magic car by a mischievous angel. Each time she drives the car, a different handsome man appears.

The cinematography and story structure from "Call For Love" are repeated in "Fit Lover," but the big change is that the protagonist is a 29-year-old female white-collar professional who has affairs with 12 different men and not a divorced man as in the other film. Nie is obsessed with trying to find the ideal man before her 30th birthday, but she eventually realizes her Mr. Right has always been right beside her.

Lam, the female lead, is much admired by her fans for starring opposite 12 excellent actors in "Fit Lover." But in the article on Sina.com, she expressed regret over not being able to act with each of them for a longer time, because the plot moves so quickly that sometimes the couples must split up hastily.

Su portrays one of the men with whom Nie has affairs. This time the actor breaks away from his stereotypical gentleman-type roles to play a fanatic who passionately takes part in any kind of selection shows to promote himself. He assured his fans and the media that they would see a more diversified Su in the film, according the report.

A grand premiere ceremony for the film was held in Beijing on November 27.
