One crew member died and two others were injured while they were working on a bombing scene for the highly-expected TV drama "My Chief and My Regiment," the Beijing News reported on Monday.
The drama was being shot in southwestern Yunnan Province on April 8 when fire effect artist Guo Yan accidentally detonated a bomb he had just buried. Guo died on site, and two of his assistants were injured, the report says.
"My Chief and My Regiment" is set in war time Yunnan in 1942. The project has been attracting great attention since it features a heavy involvement of major cast members from the "Soldier Sortie," an extremely popular TV drama last year.
Li Chen, one of the lead cast members, offered his condolence on his blog.
Shooting for the drama has already resumed, the Beijing News says. It is slated to hit the small screens later this year. |
