China's rising pop singer Zhang Liangying and veteran rocker Cui Jian were in northeast Shenyang city on Wednesday to sing for 50,000 football fans.

Their performance in Shenyang Olympic Sports Center was in celebration of the Chinese women football team's 1-0 victory over Mexico, in a test match for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Zhang Liangying, famous for her "dolphin sounding vocals," appeared in simple sportswear. She sang four of her popular pieces while an electric-powered cart carried her around the field.

She was followed by Cui Jian, who played his classic hit, "Rock and Roll on the New Long March."
