"Confession of Pain" Gets Ready

The lead actors and actresses of the new crime flick "Confession of Pain" attended the premiere ceremony Sunday night in Beijing.

Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Shu Qi and Xu Jinglei all arrived for the ceremony.

Co-directed by Andrew Lau and Alan Mak, "Confession of Pain" is set to open in Chinese theaters this Friday.

When asked whether he thought the film would catch up to Zhang Yimou's "Curse of the Golden Flower" at the box office, Cannes best actor winner Tony Leung said he hoped the two films could both have their audiences.

Zhang Yimou's big-budgeted "Curse of the Golden Flower" was an instant smash hit after opening last Thursday. Its total box office takings have reportedly reached 100 million yuan.
