2006 MTV Style Awards Hosted in Shanghai on Friday

The annual MTV Style Awards, jointly hosted by MTV, CCTV and Shanghai Media Group, will take place on Friday at the Grand Stage in Shanghai.

A press conference was held yesterday to disclose the star-studded lineup of this year's event. Taiwan veteran Fei Yu-Ching is set to perform for the first time together with pop king Jay Chou for the love song "A Thousand Miles Away."

MTV China President Li Yifei said at the promotional activity the MTV Style Awards is in its fourth year since its debut as a new concept of awards honoring sports, fashion, film, music and all fields of outstanding celebrities of the year.

The vice-president of Shanghai Media Group, Teng Junjie, said the fourth Style Awards will feature the theme of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. The format of this year's event will include some new creations.
