Director Ning Hao’s new film “Crazy Stone” has topped the box office among Chinese films in the first half of the year. Its box office intake has reached 6.2 million RMB in the two weeks following its premiere. Ning Hao has revealed that the film is scheduled to hit Hong Kong cinemas in August.

Crazy Stone’s box office takings rose 100% in its second week as compared to its first week in theaters. Ma Jie, from the film distribution company Warner China Film HG Corporation, said, “Usually, one film’s box office takings in the second week will fall 30 to 70%. While this film’s takings have risen rather than fallen. Evidently, this film appeals to a large number of audiences.”

According to statistics, the box office intake of “Crazy Stone” has increased at all major cinemas across the nation. Audiences nationwide have accepted its humor.

Director Ning Hao has toured around China to promote the film together with his crew.

Up until now, no fake DVDs of “Crazy Stone” have appeared on the market. There are also no BT downloadable resources on the Internet. The film’s legitimate DVD went on sale Monday.
