Tennis: Robredo Wins Hamburg Masters Series Title
2006-05-22 08:53:30  Xinhua

Spain's Tommy Robredo beat Czech Radek Stepanek 6-1, 6-3, 6-3 to win the Hamburg Masters Series on Sunday.

Robredo, the eighth seed, broke Stepanek twice in each of the first two sets and then smashed a backhand winner down the line to grab the crucial break for a 5-3 lead in the third.

The 24-year-old sealed the win with a volley then tore off his shirt and flung it into the crowd.

The day's match was Robredo's first final in the nine-tournament Masters Series after he made the last four on his debut in Hamburg in 2002 and in Cincinnati in 2004.
