Anti-Doping: Wada Tested 3,114 Athletes in 2005

The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) tested 3 114 athletes in 2005 as part of its out-of-competition testing programme, with 63 tests proving abnormal.

Wada tested blood and urine for prohibited substances and methods, including analysis of urine for banned blood booster EPO, as well as analysis of blood for the detection of HBOCS, blood transfusion and Human Growth Hormone.

The agency conducted the no-notice tests in 119 countries on athletes from 40 sports.
