Shanghai Liancheng Take First Spot in CSL

Shanghai Liancheng had their scoring spree at home, beating Shandong Luneng 5-1 to take the first spot after three rounds at the China Super League soccer tournament on Sunday.

Captain Chang Lin slammed home a rebound off a defender's leg from his own header to put the home side ahead in the ninth minute before Li Jinyu put in the equalizer from a goalmouth melee in the 36th minute.

After the break, it was Shanghai Liancheng who completed their scoring spree through Liu Zhiqing, Zhao Xiaorui and Yang Lin.

With two wins from the first three matches, Liancheng Tianjin Kangshifu on goal differences for the top spot after Tianjin played a scoreless game agaisnt Shenyang Jinde.

In Changchun, newly-promoted home side Yatai stunned powerhouse Dalian Shide 2-1 with goals from Elvis and Cao Ming in the 19th and 45th minutes.

Dalian only managed a consoling goal in the 90th minute from Zhao Xuri.

In Xiamen, Lanshi exploded on the home turf, beating Chongqing Lifan 3-2 after the referee awarded four penalty kickes in the match, including three for the home side.

In another game of the day, Wuhan Guanggu defeated beat Xi'an Guoji 1-0.

Early on Saturday, Shenzhen Jinwei and Qingdao Zhongneng lost their home games to Beijing Hyundai 4-0 and Shanghai Shenhua 2-1 respectively.
