Chinese athletes have for the first time reached the finals of Olympic Men's Aerials in freestyle skiing. Remarkably Han Xiaopeng qualified in the first position.

Han Xiaopeng was one of only three jumpers to record two jumps that scored more than 120 points. His total score was 250.45 points, 1.11 points ahead of Dmitri Dashiniski of Belarus.

He said after the match he felt relieved because he has made an historical breakthrough for Chinese men's aerials.

Since first participating in the Winter Olympics four years ago in Salt Lake City, where he finished 24th, the 23-year-old has been making steady progress. Now Han Xiaopeng ranks seventh in the World Cup standings.

Another Chinese athlete Qiu Sen ranked No.6 and also qualified for the final, which is scheduled for Thursday.
