Ivica, 26, is overshadowed by his two-year younger sister Janica, who claimed three gold medals in 2002 in the Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games and won five world titles.
Ivica, world slalom champion in 2003, is now ranked 49th overall after struggling with form on the 2005-06 World Cup circuit. He missed half of the 2003-04 season after a crash prompted knee and shoulder surgery.
Ivica was confident of making to the podium and tipped the combined his best chance.
"Combined is a big chance for me as there are two slalom races, " he said, "I'm feeling fine, everything is good. I'm not usually a downhiller."
Among the rest brother and sisters, Vanessa and Jean-Pierre Vidal of France are the most famous. Jean-Pierre, 29, lifted the men's slalom title in the 2002 Winter Olympics, in which Vanessa, 32, was ranked 7th in the women's slalom.
The others are Austrians Elisabeth and Stephan Goergl, Martina Ertl-Renz and Andreas Ertl of Germany, Manfred and Manuela Moelgg of Italy, and Cristian Javier, Maria Belen and Macarena Simari-Birkner of Argentina.
