China managed to hold its ground in the face of waves of strong attacks from the Mozambican side in the opening section of the game.

Mao Biao drew first blood for China six minutes into the game.

China then played a conservative game, giving their opponents more opportunities to launch offences though all to no avail.

In the second half, China started their counter-attacks to put on a hat-trick show, scoring three goals.

Mozambique managed to score one goal. But that was not enough to catch up with the Chinese.

China will face hosts South Africa in the final Sunday night after the hosts overcame Ivory Coast 5-4 during a penalty shoot-out.
