China to Player Friendly with France
2006-01-06 10:24:25  CRIENGLISH.com
The much talked about friendly between China and France has finally been decided.

The date is set for June 7, two days before the opening of the soccer World Cup in Germany.

The friendly match was initially raised by the French football association. However, the proposal met strong opposition from the French national team and was forced to be cancelled in April.

The French football association contacted the Chinese side again to establish the friendly. China responded positively to the proposal and the two sides finally set the date.

The Chinese team will assemble on June 1 and leave for France on June 3.

Domestic league matches have been rescheduled to give the players time for the friendly match.
