2006-01-03 08:59:34  CRIENGLISH.com

Germany aims to once again top the medals table at the Winter Olympics in Turin next month.

The Germans led four years ago in Salt Lake City with 12 gold medals, 16 silvers and seven bronzes ahead of Norway and the United States.

"Our goal is to finish top of the medals table and to show that Germany is a powerhouse in winter sports," said Klaus Steinbach, ˇˇchairman of the German Olympic Committee.

Steinbach said that Ntatataorway would be Germany's main rival but that Canada and Russia were also threats.
