Yang Yang Eyes More Olympic Victory
2005-12-27 17:37:30  CRIENGLISH.com
Yang Yang is in good form to take another shot at Olympic victory in Turin.

Besides competing on ice, Yang still has another task in Turin¡ªfacing an election to become a member of the International Olympic Committee Athletes' Commission. From 1999, Yang had begun to join some of the international meetings.

"Through these activities, I broadened my horizons to a large extent, and this has been helpful to me in dealing with some emergencies on ice."

During the last Winter Olympic Games in 2002, Yang had already tried to enter the election contest to become a member of the IOC Athletes' Commission, but was short by 22 votes.

This time, she will face fiercer competition since only the top two candidates will be chosen out of a total of 15.

Yang hopes that she will succeed in the election this time, so she can fulfill her duties for future Olympic Games, especially the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
