Bolivia Ties Brazil 1-1 in Cup Qualifier

Bolivia held five-time World Cup champion Brazil to a 1-1 tie in a qualifier, rallying on Jose Alfredo Castillo's goal four minutes into the second half.

  

Juninho gave Brazil the lead in the 24th minute at La Paz. Brazil already had qualified for next year's tournament, and Bolivia had been eliminated.

Argentina, which also had qualified, beat Peru 2-0 in a late game. Peru has been eliminated.

In Sunday's other game, Benin beat visiting Libya 1-0 on Rachad Chitou's penalty kick in the 63rd minute. Both teams had been eliminated.

In an exhibition game at London, Mark Viduka scored on his 30th birthday as Australia beat Jamaica 5-0.

Marco Bresciano and Archie Thompson scored first-half goals, and John Aloisi scored the fourth two minutes after replacing Viduka in the second half. Another substitute, Joel Griffiths, scored the final goal.

Australia is preparing for next month's home-and-home playoff against the fifth-place team from South America ! Uruguay, Colombia or Chile ! for a World Cup berth.
