Taliban insurgents fighting Afghan and international troops have killed a person on charge of spying for the U.S. troops based in Afghanistan's eastern Khost province, a local official said on Sunday.
"Several armed insurgents sneaked into the house of a man named Toryalai in Ismail Khil district Saturday night and shot him dead, " Daulat Khan Qayumi, the district chief of Ismail Khil said.
He also said those committed the crime were dressed in army uniform.
Meantime, Zabihullah Mujahid who claims to speak for Taliban fighters told media from undisclosed location that militants executed Toryali on charge of spying for the U.S. forces stationed in the province.
Taliban militants have assassinated over a dozen persons on similar charge in Afghanistan as well in Pakistan's tribal areas along the border over past one year. |
