Eleven Indonesian crews of a Malaysian tug boat have been taken by Somalian pirates, Indonesian foreign ministry said Friday.
Spokesman of the ministry Teuku Faizahsyah said that the eleven people were working on the waters of Yemen and have been hijacked since Dec. 16.
"All eleven crew of the tug boat, Indonesian people, were taken hostage by Somalian pirates in the waters of Yemen and they were brought to Somalian waters," he told Xinhua, adding that effort to secure the eleven had been carried out by coordinating with the Malaysian government.
So far, the crisis center set up in the ministry to deal with the matter, had been able to identify all the crews, he said. |
