To establish national rapporteurs or equivalent systems throughout the European Union (EU) and beyond will help to combat human trafficking, said an OSCE statement issued on Thursday.
The OSCE Special Representative Eva Biaudet released the statement on behalf of the Alliance Expert Co-ordination Team (AECT), underscoring the fundamental role of this rapporteur system.
Biaudet said the first-hand information from the rapporteurs was essential to carry out an efficient policy against human trafficking. The system would also allow governments to take the ultimate responsibility in the fight of the trafficking.
According to Biaudet, this rapporteur system, or an equivalent, would help to monitor and trace the working procedure as well as strengthen cooperation among similar counterparts nationwide or international.
The AECT facilitates the exchanges of experience, best practices and lessons learned, as well as joint actions to combat human trafficking across the OSCE region. |
