South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun held talks with Kim Yong Nam, the top legislator of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), shortly after his three-day visit to the DPRK began on Tuesday.
The talks were held at the Mansudae Hall.
Roh traveled some 200 km overland from Seoul earlier in the day for an inter-Korean summit.
Upon his arrival, he was greeted by the DPRK's top leader, Kim Jong Il, at a grand welcoming ceremony.
The South Korean leader is expected to hold two rounds of talks on Wednesday with Kim Jong Il on inter-Korean co-prosperity, peace, reconciliation and reunification.
Roh is also scheduled to watch a mass dance and musical spectacle, the Arirang, on Wednesday and visit a few industrial sites in the DPRK. |
