Final preparations are underway in Hanoi, the Vietnamese capital due to host the Pacific Economic Cooperation, or APEC, Summit next week.
The Summit is the biggest event the Vietnamese government has ever hosted. It's poured millions of US dollars into the project, determined to make it a success.
Hanoi has spent around 40-thousand US dollars decorating its streets with fresh and artificial flowers. Banners and slogans across the city are ready to greet the participants.
The locals are excited about the upcoming summit.
Many say they think the city is now more beautiful and cleaner than ever before.
Some say they see the summit as a "great opportunity for Vietnam to bring its image to the world".
"The atmosphere in Hanoi ahead of the APEC summit is great. Everyone is waiting for the event to come. We are keen to see Vietnam having a position in the world arena, more and more people will know of my lovely country."
The 14th APEC summit comes a few days after Vietnam gained admittance into the World Trade Organization, after 11 years of negotiations.
The leaders of 21 countries, including the US, China, Russia and Japan, will attend the summit from the 18th to 19th November.
