Chinese entrepreneur and nature photographer Luo Hong has set up a special fund in the UN Environment Program, or UNEP to help the environmental protection.
The donation of 10 million Yuan, or some 1.2 million US dollars, to the UNEP will be mainly used to preserve Lake Nakuru in Kenya, known for its flocks of flamingos.
Executive Director of UNEP, Achim Steiner, has accepted the donation.
"The Story that we want to bring to you today is that in China there are people who are immensely successful, who cares about their own cities in the world, and want to use their success to help others. Mr. Luo is not only giving us money, but is also infect giving unique voice through photographing. "
The 39-year-old Chinese entrepreneur, also an environmentalist, held a photographic exhibition in Nairobi on this year’s World Environment Day in June. He says harmony is the pinnacle of beauty and he hopes, through his artistic creation, to arouse people around the world to protect the harmony of nature.
