British authorities on Friday identified and froze the funds of 19 of the 24 suspected terrorists who allegedly plotted to destroy U.S.-bound commercial jetliners.
Among those arrested were a Muslim charity worker and a Heathrow Airport employee with an all-area access pass.
The Bank of England on Friday has frozen the funds of the 19 identified suspects who were arrested in connection with the alleged terror plot.
UK Home Secretary John Reid said although officials believed all the main suspects were in custody, the UK threat level remained "critical," the highest level.
"This is an ongoing operation and so the Joint terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC), has advised that the threat level should remain at ‘critical’ as a precautionary measure in order to protect the public. We are very grateful for all the help and cooperation we have received from our international partners, including Pakistan, and I would like to thank them for the assistance they have given us."
Meanwhile he said UK citizens faced a "common threat" and appealed for tolerance and resilience.
