The full 15-nation United Nations Security Council met on Saturday afternoon to discuss the draft resolution that sets out a solution for establishing lasting peace in the Hezbollah-Israel conflict.
The draft calls for an international force to be established to monitor a cease-fire in the region and disarm the Hezbollah militia.
The resolution also clear borders should be established for Lebanon, especially in the disputed Chebaa farms area, which has been occupied by Israel since 1967.
Lebanon has wanted the resolution to place the Chebaa farms under interim UN Control.
The Lebanese ambassador to the UN, Nouhad Mahmoud, said he would have liked to have seen more of his country's concerns reflected in the draft.
"We appreciate all the efforts made to come up with this draft but unfortunately it lacked, for instance, a call for the withdrawal of the Israeli forces which are now in Lebanon. On the other side also, we were promised that the Chebaa farm issue would be reflected more clearly. We see some mention of it in the text, but its not as clear as we would like it to be."
Once approved by the UN, the resolution has to be accepted by Israel and Hezbollah before it can come into effect.
