Chinese State Councilor Meets Kyrgyzstan Guest

Chinese State councilor Meng Jianzhu met Thursday with visiting Kyrgyzstan Minister of the Interior Affairs Moldomusa Kongantiev, calling on the two sides to step up cooperation in fields of anti-terrorism and law enforcement.

The two side should work closer and take effective measures under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to promote the law enforcement to maintain national and regional stability, Meng said.

China and Kyrgyzstan are both members of the SCO, an inter-governmental organization founded in Shanghai in 2001.

Meng also expressed his gratitude for the donation from Kyrgyzstan Minister of the Interior Affairs when China's southwest province Sichuan suffered a strong earthquake in May.

Kongantiev said the Kyrgyzstan side highly values its law enforcement cooperation with China and is willing to expand the exchange and cooperation with China in this regard.
