Car-bus Crash Kills Eight in NE China

Eight people died and another two were injured after a car crashed with a minibus in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Monday, a local authority said on Tuesday.

The accident occurred at around 9 a.m. at a section of the No. 202 National Highway in Mingshui County when a car collided with an approaching minibus, a county traffic police officer said.

Six people on board the minibus and two in the car died at the scene. Another two passengers in the car were injured, he said.

The minibus was rented by an old peoples home for a funeral. The four people in the car were all policemen from Daqing City, he said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
